Vitamix Blender

Updated on June 5, 2014

This vitamix blender is truly powerful! It's one of my most powerful kitchen appliances I own. It big, masculine and loud but can pulse quietly as well. It makes the best smoothies and ice cream shakes ever. I'd never seen one until my Dad ordered it for juicing when he had cancer. Then when he passed, my sister said to make sure I take it home with me. Don't let anyone else have it since I helped out so much she thought I deserved this big blender. It sat on my counter for a while and never used it until one day I finally decided to give it a try. Wow! First thing I thought it was to loud but then as I used it more and more I got use to it. Now I love it.

One of my favorite things to make is ice cream shakes. Actually that's my sons specialty. He loves using it because it crunches up ice better than my regular blender. He'd add ice cream, milk, peanut butter and chocolate. It blended up so smooth. He'd pour them into large glasses; put in a straw and we'd enjoy. They turned out awesome and so yummy!

I own a Vitamix 5000 which is an older model. It has a heavy duty pitcher with a spill proof vented lid with a removable plug. You remove the plug; then add the masher for mixing as needed. It has a 2+ peak horsepower motor with variable speeds and get this the blades propel about 200 mph. Now that is powerful!

So whether your mixing up smoothies, shakes, batters, chopping veggies and even ice. This blender is your friend!

These video's I've chosen are about ice crushing, being loud plus pulsing quietly and to see how it mixes up a nut butter and green smoothies. Your choices of what to blend are endless!
